LOGAS

Logas (Sunset) beach is located in Peroulades, (northern  Corfu Island). Peroulades known also as Peroulathes is not a resort but an ancient Greek village, wrapped in a time warp, a small village with tiny Greek houses, and as you leave the village and head for the famous sunset beach (Logas Beach) you catch glimpses of the most stunning panoramic views on the island of Corfu. This photo features   sedimentary layering there.

The cliff strata  consist primarily of  clay  deposits with sand lenses separating the clay. At a number of locations along this beach, wind and waves have undercut the cliff face. the structures atop the cliff (upper right), lurking precariously close to the edge. Peroulades is away from the noisy resorts, being at the most North Westerley part of the island, and there are many fantastic walks in the area. A car is essential for visiting other parts of the island. To reach the beautiful Peroulades head West through Sidari, and at the T Junction sign posted for Melitsa (Three Little Pigs Taverna) turn right and carry on to the next T Junction at the Canal D´Amour.

Turn left and head out of town. Bear right at the next Y junction and this will take you into Peroulades. For Sunset Beach carry on through the village and take the signposted road on the right hand side. The beach is sandy but very narrow and whenever a ferry or cruise ship goes by, the wash completely covers it. There are no facilities at the beach, nor watersports nor boat rental in Peroulades.

But it is very clean and not an urchin in sight. The access to the beach is going down lots of steps. For those staying anywhere in the North of the island please do not miss seeing the sunset from Sunset Beach. The stunning views and the specially chosen music from the bar make it an experience not to be missed. Also for those who like to see Corfu as it used to be, take a stroll through the village.

The nearest touristic resort to the East is Sidari while Saint Stefanos (Avliotes) is to the South. There is only one taverna at Sunset Beach and another one in the village of Peroulades. There is also one cocktail style bar at the top of Sunset Beach. The famous Orchard Pub/Restaurant is located on the road between Sidari and Peroulades just outside of Sidari on your left hand side. There is no supermarket at Sunset beach and only a small one in the village.
